Dr. Majid Rafizadeh  When the nuclear agreement was reached in 2015 between the six world powers and Iran, I pointed out that the major mistake of Western governments was to believe that Tehran viewed the deal in the same way that they did.For the West, the deal was going to be transformational — moderating the Iranian government’s foreign policy and halting its nuclear ambitions. But from the viewpoint of Iranian leaders, the nuclear accord was a transitory and fleeting deal.

On Saturday, I joined a one-day symbolic hunger strike in Stockholm alongside dozens of other Iranians living in European countries.Our aim was to draw urgent international attention to the plight of numerous Iranian political prisoners who have been on hunger strike now for over three weeks over the appalling abuses they are facing at the hands of the religious dictatorship.

NCRI - Nikki Haley, the US Ambassador to the UN, met with officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Wednesday to discuss the Iranian regime’s nuclear program. Simultaneous with that visit, Iranians residing in Vienna held a rally to call for imposition of comprehensive sanctions against the clerical regime for its nuclear program, its world-leading rate of executions, its export of terrorism, and its ballistic missile program.

Human rights record has  deteriorated  markedly in Iran according to human rights organizations including Amnesty International.

The Iranian regime’s authorities in Gohardash Prison continue to deprive nearly two dozen political prisoners of necessary medical care as their health is deteriorating rapidly in the 5th week of their hunger strike.

In line with the ongoing evaluation of Iran’s compliance or non-compliance with a pact aimed at curbing its nuclear ambitions, and as the administration of US President Donald Trump continues to weigh its comprehensive Iran policy, Nikki Haley, US Ambassador to the United Nations visited Vienna on Wednesday to meet with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officials on a fact finding mission to shed more light on this entire dossier.

Our aim was to draw urgent international attention to the plight of numerous Iranian political prisoners who have been on hunger strike now for over three weeks over the appalling abuses they are facing at the hands of the religious dictatorship.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani recently made the bold threat that Iran could restart its nuclear program in a  matter of "hours"  if it chose to. The remarks are the latest iteration of the Iranian regime's good cop, bad cop routine.

The conventional wisdom holds that August is not usually a very busy month in politics.  Most Western parliaments are on leave, and most politicians take advantage of the opportunity to go on holiday.

The military phase of the fight against ISIS is winding down after the liberation of Mosul, and the battle for the nearby  town of Tal Afar  is predicted to end soon. This has provided an opportunity for Iraq to begin distancing itself from the influence gained by Iran following the disastrous 2003 war, and returning to its true Arabic heritage.

عبدالرحمن مهابادي: كاتب ومحلل سياسي سجلت ذاكرة تاريخ إيران أنه في العصر الحاضر وطيلة حكم دكتاتورية محمد رضا شاه بهلوي الذي واجه عدة مرات انتفاضة قام بها الشعب الإيراني وكان آخرها 12/شباط-فبراير 1979والذي أدّى إلى القضاء على النظام، لم يصدر خميني أي فتوى للجهاد ضد نظام الشاه، إذ كان له مواقف مشتركة كثيرة في عدة نقاط معها سيما في حقوق النساء بل كان خلافه مع الشاه بسبب تمهيده لرعاية بعض الحقوق للنساء !!

بمناسبة إحياء ذكرى مجزرة 30 ألف سجين سياسي في عام 1988 في إيران ينبغي وصف ارتكاب مجزرة أكثر من 30 ألف سجين سياسي في عام 1988 في إيران كبرى جرائم ضد الإنسانية بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية بالذات.  [1] بعد 28 سنة من هذه الإبادة الجماعية لا يزال نظام الملالي يخاف  عن  الاعتراف بوقوع الإعدامات والإفصاح عن أي معلومات عن ضحايا هذه المجزرة.

نقل نظام الملالي الحاكم في إيران 7 سجناء محكوم عليهم بالإعدام في سجن جوهردشت (رجايي شهر) بمدينة كرج إلى زنزانات انفرادية. ويواجه هؤلاء الضحايا خطرا عاجلا. ومنهم «مهدي بهلولي» الذي يواجه الإعدام الآن بعد تحمل 15 عاما من الحبس كان عمره أثناء الاعتقال 17 عاما فقط. هذه هي المرة الرابعة التي يتم نقله إلى زنزانات انفرادية لتنفيذ حكم الإعدام به.
